We have been living in our pajamas since Sunday late afternoon!
Poor little buddy had a 101.9 fever that would break and return, break and return....
We could tell when it was back without even taking his temperature because his behavior would change in an instant.
No appetite, runny nose, cough, eyes watering....all normal stuff....until..........
HE BROKE OUT IN HIVES!!!
seriously!
all over his back and then they spread to his belly and a few blotches down his legs and on his shoulders and finally there were surrounding his eyes and cheeks!
He was so sad looking!
I had no idea what it was at first and still don't know what caused it.
Could have been a reaction to the motrin we gave him (normally has children's Tylenol) or if it was just a symptom of the fever/cold which can happen.
After a trip to the doctor's office, we had a few answers.
Yes, they were hives and some children's anti-allergy medicine would help it. Thanks goodness, after one dose, they were ALL GONE! Cold symptoms and cough were good ole normal cold stuff- so nothing to worry about there. But then he checked his ears and said that he had a very early stage ear infection!! His FIRST EVER!
Let me say that amoxocilin (sp) is the BOMB!!!
Even after two doses of this stuff, we were starting to see our little boy again!
It is now Thursday and aside from the cough, we are much better!!
Actually getting out of the house today- i think being cooped up too long can make us all crabby and feel worse actually...so we are going to go to starbucks and the book store for story time- sitting far in the back, of course.

Poor guy! I'm glad he's feeling better! A trip to the book store and an afternoon with mom should do the trick!
